Optimizing performance of Kona Gateways
As we have made
improvements on Kona Gateways and TEK NS recently, we strongly recommend our
customers to update following configuration settings on Kona Gateways in order
to maximize performance.
- As MQTT offers a more
reliable connection between gateways and network server than UDP, we
recommend making following changes:
- In config.json file located in /etc/default/ directory, set server_address to 127.0.0.1 instead of NS URL.
- In mqtt-bridge.conf file located in
/etc/default/
directory, set ns_host to lorawan-ns-na.tektelic.com
or
lorawan-ns-eu.tektelic.com.
When making changes
to multiple gateways in the same group, you can use the Group Configuration option as shown in screenshots below of Gateway Groups tab.
After making above
changes, power cycle the gateway manually or use Reboot
option found under Commands tab from TEK
NS.
